It’s time for the Miami Heat to prove all the doubters wrong. As the playoffs begin, all the talking heads — from Charles Barkley to Skip Bayliss — are claiming that team President Pat Riley is going to dismantle the Big Three if the Heat doesn’t win the championship this year. If that’s the case, Pat Riley will be admitting to a failed experiment. It would also be a cop-out because it won’t be the fault of Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh if the team falls short of its goal.

This week, Luke recommends Pat Riley pull a Stan Van Gundy on Erik Spoelstra.

Pat Riley needs to stop wasting time writing love poems to his wife Christine during games and get back on the sidelines already. Erik Spoelstra is a nice guy and one day, he may even be a great head coach, but right now he is not the guy who can lead the Dwayne Wade-Lebron James-Chris Bosh troika to an NBA title. Riley needs to take over as head coach of the Miami Heat again even if it means he gets criticized for pulling another Stan Van Gundy like he did in 2006 when he took over that team to lead the Heat to its first-ever world championship.
